Profile
Buffalo City TVET College is a leading public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution in the East London metropolitan area, serving as one of the key providers of practical, skills-focused education in the Buffalo City region and the broader Eastern Cape.
Established in 2002 through the merger of three prominent institutions, East London College (including its St Marks Campus), Border Technical College, and John Knox Bokwe Careers College in Mdantsane, the college was created to streamline resources, expand access, and strengthen vocational training delivery across the Greater East London area. This strategic amalgamation allowed for the consolidation of programs: Business Studies from Border Technical College were integrated into the East London Campus, Engineering components moved to St Marks, and John Knox Bokwe retained its mixed focus.
Today, it operates as a multi-campus college with four main teaching sites and an administration center, making quality education more accessible to students from urban centers, townships, and surrounding communities.
